Thurston's "The Bishop's Shadow." The best I'm able to do is describe it as a long (200 pages or so) parable. The writing is very direct with a decided moral and Christian bent (obviously, from the title). The best adjective I can come up with is "soppy" (but in|About the Author|I. T. Thurston (1848-1918) was the author of "Boys of the Central," "A Genuine Lady" etc.
